VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES



Staging Area (7:00am-12:00pm)
Helps get entries to their assigned areas and ensures they have an entry number and are ready to go. Keeps entries moving along as they get ready for step-off for the parade.

Script Writer (October-December)
Organize, sequence, and write script for all entries in the parade. Assemble notebooks with script information and fillers. Distribute notebooks to announcers the morning of the parade. Attend entries meetings and work with committee members to obtain information.

Area Beautification Coordinator (October-December)
Coordinates volunteers the day of the parade to help with trash pick-up and cleaning of parade route. Works with trash company for delivery and pick-up of trash cans.

Shuttle Coordinator (October-December)
Coordinates the arrival and departure of the parade shuttle. Meets with shuttle personnel the morning of the parade to provide current information, hand out entry pass, and answer questions.

Food Coordinator (October-December)
Assist volunteer coordinator with obtaining food and beverage donations from community. Helps with food and coffee distribution the day of the parade.

Staging Area (7:00am-12:00pm)
Assist entries to their staging locations, ensures they have an entry number and are ready for step-off. Keeps entries moving along as they prepare for step-off. Assist with setting up staging area.

Pacers (9:00am-12:00pm)
Assertive volunteers, assigned to a specific entry within staging, who walk along side the entry down the parade route. Pacers help maintain the constant flow of the entrants during the parade by monitoring the pace of the entrants to stop, slow, or continue moving along the parade route.

End of Route (8:30am-12:30pm)
Helps direct entries off the parade route as detailed. Directs walkers, equestrians, marching bands, and youth groups to their proper area after they have completed the parade.

Announcer Spotters (9:30am-11:30am)
Assists announcers with updated information or last minute changes of entries.

Shuttle Riders/Information (8:30am-10:00am)
Rides the shuttle to provide information about the parade to spectators. Provides programs and information about the parade.

Program Distribution (8:30am-10:00am)
Distributes programs and flags to spectators along the parade route.

Information Booths (9:00am-12:30pm)
Provides information and assistance to spectators. Positioned along the parade route. Helps sell t-shirts, provide programs, flags, maps, and any information related to the parade.

Volunteer Check-In (7:00am-11:00am)
Helps with distribution of shirts, ribbons, and name tags. Assist with getting volunteers to their designated positions.

Entry Check-In (7:00am-11:00am)
Helps check-in entries, provide entry numbers, and maps. Assist with getting entrants to their designated locations.
