2008 Theme - "Remember when... "

Generations of families will gather along Crown Valley Parkway on a peaceful and brilliant Saturday morning to watch the largest and most creative display of community in the City’s history!  The parade is filled with beautiful equestrian units, patriotic and inspirational military tributes, spirit filled youth groups, classic auto clubs, talented marching bands and some of the biggest attractions in the nation!  Also included in the mix of fun and eclectic entries were this year’s Celebrity Grand Marshals.    


Jerry MathersThe BeaverJERRY MATHERS - For 6 years he played "Beaver Cleaver" on the coveted family show LEAVE IT TO BEAVER which aired 234 episodes.  He later returned to the role on the Disney Channel's updated version of the series "Still the Beaver" which ran for 108 episodes.

Jerry Mathers' television show business career began at the tender age of two. He then continued to work on many of the early ‘50’s television shows and in 1954, he made his movie debut co-starring with Linda Darnell in “This Is My Love.” It was in 1957, however, with the debut of the series “Leave It To Beaver” Jerry entered the hearts and homes of America. Named as one of the most well known individuals in television history by People Magazine in 1989, Mathers has a high "Q" rating for name and face recognition and is known by people throughout the world.

 

Bill SharmanBill SharmanBILL SHARMAN was an All America basketball star at Southern California and played 11 years in the NBA mostly with the Boston Celtic. Sharman coached the Lakers when they won their first championship in 1972. He averaged 17.8 points for his career. In 1975 he was elected to the National Basketball Hall of Fame. The Dodgers signed him as an outfielder in 1950. He hit .292 for St. Paul (American Association) in 1952 and .294 for the same club in 1955. Brought up by Brooklyn in September 1955, he became the only man to be thrown out of a ML game without ever playing in one, when one day the whole bench was ejected by the umpire. When the Dodgers did not offer him a MLB contract, he quit baseball to concentrate on basketball.  

 

 

 

 

Lauren MatherLAUREN MAHER (Scarlett) has established herself as a versatile actor in the entertainment industry with a varied body of work in film, television and theatre.

In addition to her three appearances as Scarlett in the “Pirates” trilogy, Maher's other work in film includes Pat O'Neill's festival favorite “Decay of Fiction,” Lee Friedlander's award-winning romantic comedy “Girl Play,” and “Mind Forest.”  She has also starred in numerous short films, including “Solo Act,” “Century Game” and “Seafood Heaven.” Maher's latest project is a supporting role in the horror film “33 Griffin Lane.”


Maher has acted on the stage in New York, London and Los Angeles.  Her work includes roles in “Romeo and Juliet,” “Hamlet,” “The Great White Hope” and Tony Kushner's “The Illusion.” From 2000-2005, Maher served as a co-artistic director and producer for WolfPack Production Company, a non-profit theatre company based in Los Angeles. During this time, she helped to produce numerous Shakespearean plays, as well as works by Sam Shepard and the Firesign Theatre.  Currently, she performs regularly with the Lonestar Ensemble. She has most recently been seen on the stage in “Teechers,” co-starring James Marsters.



Anna Maria Perez De TagleANNA MARIA PEREZ DE TAGLE is now one of today’s hottest triple threats. Born in Northern California, Anna Maria developed her love for theater and began training in singing, dancing and acting. This dynamo can be seen in Disney’s #1 hits “Camp Rock” and “Hannah Montana”

She always loved performing in front of the camera and on stage, starring in regional productions of  “Cinderella” “Bugsy Malone” and “The King and I.” She kept busy by modeling for several catalogues, including Macy’s and Mervyns and was a junior finalist for “Star Search 2”.  After begging her parents to let her audition, Anna Maria booked her 1st audition, winning a role on Disney’s hit “Hannah Montana,” so her family packed up and moved to Hollywood.  Anna Maria plays Ashley Dewitt, a ditsy fashionista who has no idea that her nemesis, Miley, is really her favorite performer, Hannah Montana.

Since hitting Los Angeles, this beauty has graced the small screen numerous times with roles in “Bee Season,” CBS’s morning show “Cake” and “Just Jordan,” as well as the voice of the Martha, the Safety Patrol Kid in “Higglytown Heroes.” For her next project, she has been set to star in the independent “A Forgotten Innocence” which will begin lending in the summer.

Most currently, Anna Maria can be seen in Disney’s upcoming hit, “Camp Rock” starring as Ella, a lip-gloss obsessed mean girly girl who makes an unlikely transformation. “We had so much fun working with the whole cast, we had a blast and we really rocked!” This television feature is the most watched cable show in 08 and garnered more viewers than “High School Musical”
